The emergency communication center (ECC) and field environments offer unique challenges that impact personnel and public safety operations. Join the FirstNet ROG the Dog(s) and AT&T Health and Wellness Coalition as they explore the innovative use of service animals in public safety and discuss the benefits of therapy dogs during natural disasters or man-made crises. Discover the positive effects of therapy dogs on mental and physical health with examples from the agencies nationwide that have integrated them into their ECCs, including specific instances of assistance by ROG the Dog.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand a holistic view of the human factors challenges facing ECCs across the nation today, as well as the operational impact of those challenges on ECC staff members, on first responders in the field, and on the citizens who rely on the public safety community
  • Discuss how incorporating non-technological wellness principles can positively impact recruitment, retention, effectiveness, efficiency, morale, and wellness among ECC personnel
  • Participants will gain an understanding of how to request the FirstNet Rog the Dog services and FirstNet Health and Wellness Coalition
