Program Manager, Therapy Dog Team
Global Medical Response (GMR)
Jesse Baker is the Program Manager of the GMR Therapy Dog Team. Baker, who started his career journey in EMS in 1994, has served in various roles stemming from firefighter, EMT, paramedic to operations manager. In 2016, when Global Medical Response (GMR) created a Therapy Dog Team that provided dogs in
operations throughout the country to offer comfort and stress relief to first responders, Baker joined the team as a handler for one of the company’s therapy dogs. Then, in 2018, he transitioned from a direct patient care role within GMR to a management position, with a distinct focus on taking care of the frontline EMS professionals who take care of patients. Baker’s passion for training dogs eventually led him to receive certification as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator for the American Kennel Club. In November of 2021, he transitioned from the
role of operations manager to his current position as program manager of the GMR Therapy Dog Team. Baker’s dedication to the health and wellness of the first
responder community has fueled his desire to bring therapeutic interaction, healing and resiliency to them through the use of
highly trained canines.
