Public Safety Communications Manager
what3words
Penny is a Public Safety Communications Manager at what3words, the innovative technology used in emergency control rooms across the globe to pinpoint and communicate precise locations.
The system has divided the globe into a grid of 10ft x 10ft squares, and assigned each square a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. The technology has proven to save time, resources and in some cases, lives, and Penny is committed to ensuring public safety agencies know how to utilize what3words in their daily operations.
Penny works closely with emergency teams across the country, providing them with free training and resources so they can effectively employ what3words’ technology themselves, and communicate its benefits to the public. This work has taken her across the globe: she has helped to set up control rooms in the US, Canada, Germany and the UK, where she’s had the opportunity to meet the incredible teams using what3words to help save lives every day.
