Performance Improvement and Accreditation Supervisor
Charlottesville-UVA-Albemarle Emergency Communications Center
Charlottesville, Virginia
Jessica "Jae" Lohr, RPL, CMCP, started her career in public safety in 2016 as a telecommunicator at a rural PSAP in Orange, Virginia. Through her dedication to learning and professional growth, she progressed quickly and now calls the Charlottesville-UVA-Albemarle County, Virginia ECC home. Certified as a general instructor, in quality assurance for all APCO Emergency Dispatch disciplines, and trained in performance improvement and accreditation, she pursues the highest standards for herself and her agency. Often called upon to aggregate and analyze mass ranges of data, she is devoted to bridging the gap between numbers and the people they represent, and humanizing the First, First Responders.
Jae enjoys supporting her teams in the background, doing projects, aiding improvement, and tackling any challenge facing her coworkers, though she often delivers specialized training with targeted focuses (and occasionally presents at local events and larger conferences). As a long-time member of the APCO Editorial Committee, she enjoys delivering food for thought to public safety professionals internationally. With 100% of her higher education delivered via the workplace, her goal is to help future generations of telecommunicators grow, learn, and develop the drive for excellence no matter their background or experience. Joyfully anticipating a long career ahead of her, Jae looks forward to the changing landscape of public safety with hope and determination.
