APCO’s CIP program is bringing basic telecommunicator training to students in community colleges, career and technical centers, and high schools. The goal of the program is to enable state-licensed and locally certified educators to teach our Public Safety Telecommunicator 1, 7th Ed., course. These instructors can then train up the telecommunicators of the future, offering them an industry-recognized, work-ready certification to allow them to transition into employment in public safety communications. The CIP program will help ECCs connect to students in the community to help them grow as young professionals with a solid foundation and the talent they need for work at the ECC, right from day one. Come to the Think Tank to learn all about the CIP initiative and how to get started in your area.
