Chief of Personnel Development Chesterfield Emergency Communications Chesterfield, Virginia
Let's have an open discussion on what happens in the communications center when, on a random Friday night, your crew is tasked with handling the largest fatality residential fire in your county's history, from the one and only 9-1-1 call received, to handling the radio traffic and dealing with the aftermath of the death of six people, four of them being children. In this session, we will look at the good and the could-have-been-better when you can't save them all.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to articulate the significance of the telecommunicators role in large scale incidents.
Participants will learn about the reconstruction of a large scale incident to analyze the positives and negatives.
Attendees will be able to participate in summarizing the findings and discuss the impact on field providers and telecommunicators.
