In the dynamic and demanding world of public safety communications, fostering a culture of well-being and community engagement is essential for cultivating resilient, high-performing telecommunicators and building strong relationships with the communities they serve. This comprehensive session explores the Thin Gold Line 5K, an exemplary community engagement initiative that has become an APCO Registered Public-Safety Leader service project. Through the lens of the Thin Gold Line 5K's couch-to-5K program, participants will gain insights into the significance of well-being and community engagement, learn strategies for implementing effective community engagement projects, and discover how to integrate these initiatives into leadership development programs.

Learning Objectives:

Articulate the significance of fostering a culture of well-being and community engagement within public safety communications.
Analyze and apply the Thin Gold Line 5K, inc. as an exemplar of successful community engagement and its implementation as an APCO RPL service project.
Integrate strategies for promoting telecommunicator well-being and community engagement into leadership development programs, specifically through the implementation of the Thin Gold Line 5K couch-to-5K program.
