Director of Public Safety

Brandon serves as the Director of Public Safety for the City of Oneonta in Alabama where he manages the coordination and operation of 80 employees in the fields of Police, Fire and Building Code Divisions. He has over 30 years of experience in Public Safety and holds a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management and degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Medicine. He currently is a commissioned police officer, a professional fire fighter and a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. Brandon has served in the ranks of patrolman to Investigations and from firefighter to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief before becoming the Public Safety Director in 2014. Additionally, working within municipal administration, Brandon holds certifications as a Local Government Administrator, a Planning and Zoning Official and a certified Advanced Local Emergency Manager (ALEM). Brandon presides as Chairman of the Blount County 911 Communications District where he has served on the board since 2006. Brandon is married to his wife Jennifer of 22 years and has two daughters Emilee and Adalyn.
