James Hilles

Special Operations Captain
Alliance Police Department

James Hilles is a Special Operations Captain with the Alliance Police Department where he started his career in 1998 after graduating with a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Currently he is responsible for a wide variety of duties at the department including supervision of the Criminal Investigations Division, Juvenile Division and Narcotics Division. He also is directly responsible for dispatch/911 operations, information systems technology, officer and dispatcher personnel training, equipment/software purchasing, and Special Response Team. He also serves on the OVI Task Force/Violent Crime Task Force with the Stark County Sheriff's Office and is certified as a Drug Recognition Expert in Ohio.
