Jacob started his career as an EMT and Paramedic with the Manatee County Department of Public Safety in 2001. After a long-vested career in Paramedic Operations for EMS, he has served in multiple leadership roles within public safety and emergency communications. Jacob has served as the Chief of Manatee County ECC in Florida, Director of Public Safety for Manatee County, FL, and ECC Administrator for Arlington County, Virginia.
Through his leadership roles, Jacob has worked diligently with both APCO International and the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) to progress the 9-1-1 industry through workforce development and Next Generation 9-1-1 technology. Jacob has served as the President of the NENA Florida Chapter and has worked with industry leaders on Public Safety Telecommunicator recognition, funding, and Next Generation 9-1-1. Under his leadership, his center was recognized by APCO International for the 2020 Technology Leadership Award.
