Ellen Wernicke

911 Liaison
Kansas 911 Coordinating Council

Ellen Wernicke currently serves as a 911 Liaison for the Kansas 911 Coordinating Council. Prior to beginning her role with the Coordinating Council in 2022, she served over 24 years at the Johnson County, Kansas Emergency Communications Center. She began her career with Johnson County in 1998 serving in PSAP operations and training roles in the communications center. In 2006, she was appointed as the Deputy Director and Director in 2015. Ellen served on various local, regional, and state boards and committees serving the interests of the public safety communications professionals and PSAPs. She served as a member of the Kansas 911 Coordinating Council for seven years, representing PSAPS serving a population of over 75,000.
