Dr. Sonny E. Kirkley is a Program Manager at the Indiana University (IU) Crisis Technologies Innovation Lab (CTIL), where he serves as the Program Director for the First Responder Smart Tracking (FRST) Challenge. He is also an adjunct faculty member at IU in human-centered computing at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. Before joining CTIL, he was involved in founding several high-tech startups. With extensive experience in managing complex projects and programs, Sonny enjoys taking ideas from concept to development and collaborating with stakeholders for effective implementation. Sonny earned his doctorate in Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University. He is passionate about working with emerging technologies such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT).
