First Responder Network Authority
Calvin Prouty is a Defense and National Security Senior Advisor at the First Responder Network Authority within the US Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications, and Information Administration (NTIA). Prior to this assignment, Mr. Prouty managed multiple programs within the Department of Army, Headquarters, Installation Management Command. These programs included the FirstNet enterprise fielding for Army first responders at 71 Army installations, the Federal Services Law Enforcement Vehicle Equipment Standardization (FEDSLEVES) program, the Mobile Federal Law Enforcement Enterprise Technical Service (MFLEETS) program and the Headquarters sustainment program for first responder Land Mobile Radio (LMR) user devices. Mr. Prouty also performed as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at the Headquarters to include serving as team lead for the “Artifacts Development Team” during the Headquarters FISMA Crisis Action Team (CAT). Mr. Prouty has two decades of law enforcement experience holding positions that range from patrol to investigator, desk sergeant to police operations, and Assistant Chief of Police to ultimately Chief of Police where he served as Incident Commander for multiple events including natural disasters, pre-planned events, large scale public venues and emergency critical incidents. During his civilian tenure in the Army, Mr. Prouty received the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service (fourth award), The Civilian Achievement Medal, and the Army Superior Civilian Service Award (the Army’s second highest Honorary Award for Army Employees). Mr. Prouty remains a purpose driven, professional veteran who is resolute in pioneering the future of public safety at the strategic level for today, tomorrow and generations to come.
